Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp is a fighter. She was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, which metastasized to her brain and liver. She underwent brain surgery to remove some of the tumors. Still, with all of that on her plate, Teddi has stayed remarkably positive amid her cancer battle. And now she is sharing a wonderful update.
Teddi Mellencamp says “doctors believe I will be healed” as she battles cancer
Teddi shared a video update on her Instagram Story. “I have really exciting news, everyone. Honestly, the crying is already done, but I just finished with all of my scans and my tumors have significantly shrunk, which doctors believe means that this all will work!” Teddi stated. “And that I will be back to myself and feeling good. I have two more sessions of immunotherapy, and then hopefully I am done, and I will be cancer-free.”
She continued, “I’m going to keep a positive outlook, because that’s the way my doctor just spoke to me. He’s like, ‘You did this. You got this.’ And then, of course, in complete Cougs way, he said, ‘You got that Mellencamp blood, so you’re good.’”
Over the photo in her post, Teddi wrote, “One update I couldn’t wait to share. All tumors (metastasized melanoma in my brain and lungs) shrunk or disappeared, so I have 6ish more weeks of immunotherapy and doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course.” She added, “Thank you to everyone who sent their love, prayers, and positivity.” She previously completed radiation treatment before beginning immunotherapy.
Of course, Teddi’s father, singer John Mellencamp, has been a source of support during Teddi’s recent health struggles. Her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, as well as a group of friends have all had Teddi’s back.
