Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 9, Episode 13. Last week, Lexi had enough of Jesse’s yellow flags and called him out in front of the group for talking about her behind her back. The two were left at a crossroads to stay together or not. Kyle and Amanda were also at a crossroads on whether or not they were going to have a baby. Meanwhile, Carl got his groove back and told Ciara he had a crush on her. Ciara responded, not today! Things are getting awfully complicated within the group. Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 9, Episode 13: “Changing Tides.”

Lexi and Jesse shocked everyone when they arrived together as a happy couple. But while Jesse had won Lexi back over, he didn’t know how to make things right with Ciara. Kyle received good news from his sperm test results, but that still didn’t change Amanda’s mind on having kids anytime soon. And lastly, West opened up to the group about the anniversary of his friend’s passing. This in turn stirred up old feelings of friendship between him and Ciara.

We kicked off with new besties Paige and Lindsay arriving together at the house. The two wondered what happened with Lexi and Jesse after last weekend’s big blowup. They didn’t have to wait long. Right on cue, they waltzed in arm in arm like nothing had happened. Lindsay and Paige both looked like the math lady GIF. Lexi admitted they talked for “hours and hours,” and all was well. Paige stated, “They’re being weird. I said it. They’re being weird together.”

The topic of Lexi and Jesse was also a hot topic for everyone else on their way to the Hamptons. West told Carl that he, Jesse, Lexi, and her entire family all went out partying together. But he still couldn’t predict where their relationship stood. Meanwhile, Amanda told Kyle and Ciara she had met up with Lexi during the week, and Lexi had given Jesse another chance. She mused, who was she to judge, after all, she married Kyle. Oop.

Possibly the biggest bomb drop of the episode came next. The front door of the house was finally fixed, y’all. Amanda looked like it was Christmas morning when she was able to smoothly open the door. And speaking of smooth, did anyone else notice that Imrul was gone yet again?

Everyone congregated in the living room to get the lowdown on Lexi and Jesse. They confirmed they were indeed back together after a heart-to-heart. Jesse said, “My takeaways were my communication with Lexi was poor.” Ciara then made it clear she was not good with Jesse. She said, “You’re not a liar, and you’re not two-faced. Is that the takeaway?”

Kyle shared the good news he passed his sperm test with flying colors. Apparently, the doctor told him he could get someone pregnant by sneezing on them. Amanda grabbed him a box of tissues to protect herself.

Carl also had an update. He told Kyle and Jesse he was going to sign a seven-year lease for his bar. They looked scared once he said it was $10 thousand a month. But Carl was ready. Kyle told him to ignore the haters, ahem, Lindsay. This riled Carl up.

He said, “If you really want my honest opinion … deep down there’s a part of her with the jabs and with these comments is her trying to feel better about the embarrassment she’s feeling.” Lindsay was going to love that.

Jesse then shared some backstory about his trust issues. He said things went left when he was in high school and his girlfriend slept with his best friend. Was this where his accusation of Lexi flirting with West stemmed from?

Meanwhile, Lexi explained her reasons for taking Jesse back to Lindsay and Ciara. One of them being that he was worth “training.” Ciara looked unmoved as she slowly chomped the olives from her dirty martini.

Lexi said Jesse needed to put up boundaries because you don’t know what other people’s intentions are. A silent poke there at Ciara. Ciara responded, “Basically he was just talking sh*t about me … like the arm-touching situation … he can have whatever boundaries he needs to have with me.”

She added, “But you’re flip-flopping like a f*cking fish out here. But really, he’s the crazy one. And he’s insecure as f*ck … say whatever f*cking thing you have to say because I got a f*cking earload for you.”

The crew split up to go out to dinner. Jesse, Kyle, Paige, and Lindsay sat down, and Jesse immediately asked for advice about Ciara. Her two-faced liar, liar, pants on fire comment was still smarting. Paige advised she would eventually come around. Jesse then tried to liken his situation to West and Ciara’s.

Surprisingly, Kyle became the voice of reason. Kyle said, “If I can help you out here, bro? Don’t be like, ‘That’s what she did to West.’ That’s not why they broke up.” He added, “You’re pinning it all on her and not you. I think she’s the one who felt screwed over.”

Over at the other restaurant, West asked Amanda about Kyle’s results. She joked, “Are we at all surprised that his sperm is working overtime?” In her confessional, Amanda shared she was finally starting to feel normal and didn’t want to throw that off by getting pregnant. Which meant they weren’t ready for kids just yet.

West then opened up to the group about his friend passing away. It had happened one year ago, and he admitted he cried on Ciara’s bed for two hours. He said, “There are moments where I am capable of being really good and owning vulnerability … I haven’t really talked about it.” This emotional moment had Ciara take a breather and walk away for a bit.

Ciara said in her confessional, “It’s hard for me to be reminded that we had a really close friendship. He can, like, move on, brush things under the rug, but I can’t do that. And that’s me; that’s my head telling me to be this way. In my heart I want to be the complete opposite. I want to give people a second chance.” But would she?

The next morning, West, Kyle, and Paige wanted the tea on how Jesse squashed his beef with Lexi. Jesse claimed Lexi wanted to get back together. This led to a three-hour conversation with her, her momager, and sister. Yikes.

West added they all went to the club, and Jesse grinded on Lexi in front of her mom. PDA was a no-no for the group, but Jesse added that Lexi’s family was everywhere they went. West was worried. He said, “I can’t get over just doing relationship therapy with your f*cking mom and sister … It will never go away, and that’s f*cking not normal and weird.”

In a hilarious moment, West broke the fourth wall when Lexi and Jesse had a PDA session. He pointed at them with a “WTF look” while staring directly at the camera. It was comedy gold.

Later on, everyone went to the beach for a picnic hosted by Lexi and Gabby. The girls all went “Ohhh” when Jesse asked to talk to Ciara alone. And it went about as well as you’d think.

He apologized, but Ciara was over him claiming the arm-touching comment was a joke or Jesse needed to feel bad for her. Jesse asked if he should have told her Lexi was upset with them flirting. And that was exactly what Ciara wanted. But it was too late now.

She said, “I’m just kind of over you guys … and honestly, I have one week left in me to care, and that’s just enough to get me through the summer.“

Summer House continues Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo and streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
