The cast of Summer House has always been friendly with the cast of Vanderpump Rules. They’ve always existed on similar shows, and so they’ve been in the same circles when it comes time to party. In fact, Summer House was basically a Pump Rules spinoff.
The show began in 2017 when some of the VPR cast visited the Hamptons house. A Pump Rules episode titled “Summer House Rules” was a preview of the new show. All I can remember is that Stassi Schroeder and a then-single Kyle Cooke were in the hottub together. Kyle tried to make a pass at Stassi, and she shot him down.
Since then, VPR stars have often visited not only Summer House but Winter House as well. Sadly, that show was canceled. Summer House star Amanda Batula thinks one Los Angeles-based cast member in particular would fit in well in the Hamptons. His name is Tom Schwartz.
Could Tom Schwartz join the Summer House cast permanently?
“People were loving Tom Schwartz coming to the house,” Amanda told Parade. “I mean, he was great. We did Winter House with him. He’s come to the house before, so he just really seamlessly fits in, and I think he really enjoyed himself … He’s hilarious.”
“I could see [him] being a good fit for sure,” she added. “And he’s single, I think … We love a single guy.”
Over the years, Tom has been a regular guest at the Summer House. He was also featured in Winter House Season 3 in 2023. His visit happened shortly after Scandoval blew up, so escaping for a little Colorado skiing was a welcome respite for at the time.
While at the Winter House, Tom even engaged in a little bit of romance with another houseguest. Fresh off his divorce from Katie Maloney, Tom struggled with the fact that his new crush was also named Katie. Coincidentally, the New Zealand native Tom fell for was Below Deck Mediterranean chief stew Katie Flood.
Though he’s a combination of lovable goofball and perennial man-baby, Schwartz would fit right in with Kyle, West Wilson and Jesse Solomon.
