Real Housewives of Beverly Hills resident puss-patting star Erika Jayne has 99 problems, and several involve our court systems. Designer Marco Morante, owner of Marco Marco, is one of her current pursuers. And according to recent reports, this Emmy Award-winning costume designer is now coming for Erika.
Marco Morante has moved for default against RHOBH’s Erika Jayne
In 2023, Erika allegedly accused Marco and his partner, Christopher Psaila, of illegally overcharging her American Express card. According to Marco, Erika’s false claims against him cost him millions of dollars and destroyed his career. In retaliation with a side of justice, Marco initiated a lawsuit against Erika in Florida, while Christopher filed his suit in California.
Through her attorney, Jim Wilkes, Erika filed to dismiss their charges. But on February 27, the federal courts denied her SLAPP motion to dismiss this case. Still trying to have this case tossed out, the courts gave Jim a hearing date in Florida. But, following an alleged clerical error, her attorney reportedly failed to turn up.
Jim sought an opportunity to explain why he was not present on this date. However, no opportunity has arrived yet for Jim to plead his case. Sadly, Erika’s counsel seems to have dropped the ball on this case, and his communication failures might soon cost Erika a pretty penny.
Cue Marco filing a new motion for default in this case. As for why, Marco claims that Erika and her fellow defendants’ efforts to dismiss this case have been “abandoned.” So, Marco returned to the courts and requested that the defendants issue a formal response within seven days.
Should Erika and her team fail to respond to this aggressive default motion, this RHOBH star faces a $300,000 default judgment against her in this lawsuit.
