When it rains, it pours! Real Housewives of New York alum Sonja Morgan continues to have money troubles. The TV personality and entrepreneur has been making headlines recently for several restaurant snafus. There was her alleged dine and dash, and then she left another restaurant in an ambulance. It’s Sonja, so nothing is too surprising. However, now an HVAC company is claiming she stiffed them too. Was Sonja able to make things right?
Sonja Morgan’s $20,000 eventually reached the small business

We’ve gone from restaurant drama to appliance drama! At least Sonja is keeping it at home this time. Page Six reported that Expert Appliance Group, a small HVAC company, reached out to them about Sonja. They completed a job at Sonja’s infamous townhouse on the Upper East Side, but the payment did not go through, and they alleged she “stiffed” them.
Apparently, Sonja paid the company almost “$20,000 via Chase Bank’s Zelle payment system.” But 14 months later the money disappeared from the account, with Chase telling them there was “a dispute about a transaction.” Did Sonja call in the dispute?
Expert was stunned as they received “no complaints [and] no explanation. [The money was] just gone.” They were unable to get hold of Sonja to discuss the matter until they reached out to Page Six.
Sonja explained she did pay them; however, “what happened afterward was entirely out of my control. Had [the owner] simply texted me – as we’ve always done – to say the [payment] had been reversed, I would have addressed it immediately.” There would be no need to blacklist her from any appliance services.
Thankfully the bank did return the money to the company. Just like Sonja did when she paid her outstanding $1,000 restaurant bill that she was accused of dining and dashing from. And at least there were no ambulances or stretchers involved in the drama this time.
Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock and streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
