The Valley Season 2 filmed in the weeks leading up to, and after, Brittany Cartwright’s divorce filing from Jax Taylor. The Kentucky native was dealing with a lot intense and fresh emotions. And given all the questionable behavior from Jax leading up to that point, including spying on her, it’s no wonder.
But Brittany admits to being in a better head-space now. She’s back in the $2 million San Fernando Valley home with son Cruz. The working mother is also “managing” the mortgage payments. Jax, notably, failed to pay them when he discovered that his estranged wife had moved on.
Now, the former Vanderpump Rules couple are in a good enough place for Jax to be spending the night in the family home occasionally.
Jax Taylor explains his unconventional sleeping arrangements at Brittany Cartwright’s house
In a recent episode of The Valley After Show, shared exclusively by Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Jax said that the arrangement is in the best interest of Cruz’s comfort.
“A lot of times I like to go stay at the house — our house. That way it doesn’t uproot him. That way he has his pool. He has his house. His room. I’ll just stay at the house. She’s comfortable with me doing that,” the VPR alum explained.
When he’s not at Brittany’s, Jax is living in a nearby townhouse. He’s got Tom Schwartz as his neighbor. On Season 2, Episode 10 of The Valley, the VPR villain shared that he felt “excited [and] nervous” about returning to the bachelor lifestyle.
“It’s been 10 years since I’ve lived by myself,” Jax said on the episode.
Co-parenting continues to be a challenge, however Jax and Brittany are cordially working through it now. Due to their hectic work schedules, they do not have a concrete visitation schedule for Cruz.
“We’re getting to a good spot … We don’t have a set schedule because obviously Brittany and I’s schedules are very crazy. Every Wednesday. Every other weekend. That’s the goal. But right now it’s like, ‘Can you grab him? Can you take him for a couple nights? I need to go to New York.’ Because we travel a lot. That’s how it is right now,” Jax explained.
Catch The Valley Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. The show streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
