We have lost a musical and reality TV legend. Ozzy Osbourne has passed away at the age of 76. He was a rock pioneer, performing first with Black Sabbath and then launching a successful solo career.
Ozzy also helmed a riotous reality TV show on MTV, The Osbournes, about his life with his family. And it was hilarious, sometimes bizarre, and yet oddly heart-warming.
The show premiered in 2002, and the finale aired in 2005. It featured Ozzy, his wife Sharon Osbourne, and their children, Jack Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne.
Ozzy Osbourne dies just days after his final Black Sabbath shows

Sky News reported that Ozzy’s family confirmed his passing in a statement. “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love,” the statement read.
Just three weeks ago, Ozzy performed at Villa Park, seated on a throne. It was a show to honor Ozzy, featuring some of his favorite musicians, as well as a reunion of Black Sabbath. “You’ve no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Ozzy told the fans. That night was Black Sabbath’s final show. Ozzy was inducted twice into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Music Hall of Fame. He was inducted as a solo artist and with Black Sabbath.
As for his reality TV career, the family’s show was well-known for its hijinks. Throwing a ham into a neighbor’s yard comes to mind. As well as Ozzy constantly yelling, “Sharronn!”
In his later years, Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He was also struggling with complications from a 2019 fall. Ozzy is survived by his wife Sharon, their children, Aimee, Jack, and Kelly, as well as his children Louis and Jessica from his marriage to Thelma Riley.
