It’s been two years since Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards and estranged husband Mauricio Umansky announced their split. And while there have been ups and downs, Kyle is very happy with how the two are navigating this next chapter in their lives.
The split came as a shock to many including those who thought they were the perfect couple. Kyle’s sister Kathy Hilton is even holding out hope that perhaps after all this reconciliation is still possible. And that’s not surprising. Thirty years of marriage is a long time after all. At the very least, the two are still good friends and great co-parents.
Kyle Richards is “proud” of how she and Mauricio Umansky are handling their split
Kyle is very grateful for how she and Mauricio are handling everything. On an Amazon Live stream on July 21st, Kyle shared an update on where she and Mauricio stand today.
“I’m really proud of how we are navigating through this separation,” she shared (at approximately the 38:00 mark). “We’re great friends and we love our daughters. We built a beautiful family. And even if we’re separated we can keep it that way.”
Both Kyle and Mauricio have always said they wanted to put their family and kids first. Kyle added that their good relationship and co-parenting has been really helpful to their daughters Alexia, Sophia, and Portia Umansky and Kyle’s eldest Farrah Aldjufrie.
“It’s been really helpful to my daughters, too, to get through this (the separation),” she said.
And despite living apart now, dating other people (Mauricio for sure), and even discussing selling their family home, Kyle and Mauricio reunite to celebrate the holidays and mark important milestones. They come together for special events like Alexia’s engagement party held at their Encino home. Alexia shared a photo of her with Kyle and Mauricio at the event.
Considering how awful splits can be in the Housewives world, Kyle and Mauricio are doing really well.
