Watch What Happens Live is truly a Bravo lover’s version of a breaking news station. The show, helmed by Bravo king Andy Cohen, airs after prime time spots from Sunday through Thursday. Of course, star-studded guests like Real Housewives, A-list actors and beyond are always integral to the experience.
WWHL has been a part of our evening routines since it first premiered in 2009. Fans come to expect certain aspects — Andy doing a shotski with the guests, wacky games and surprise guests. The celebrity bartenders are also a major part of the show, and two recent WWHL guests spilled the tea on what it’s really like to stand behind the bar during a show.
What’s WWHL really like behind-the-scenes?

Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea (nice name!) co-hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real recently served as guest bartenders during the Wednesday, July 30 episode. Real Housewives of Miami star Julia Lemigova and fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi were the WWHL special guests. After the show, the two bartenders decided to spill all of the tea on what it was like behind the scenes of their first-hand experience.
One of the most shocking revelations is that the bartenders don’t really have to bartend. The WWHL crew is apparently really good about making sure all of the guests are equipped with their drink of choice, whether it’s a Diet Coke a la Lisa Barlow or a Corona Light a la Ashley Darby. Refills are also plentiful during commercial breaks.
The bartenders also get the star treatment, getting makeup touchups from Andy’s makeup artist and chatting with Andy during breaks. The entire shoot took about 35 minutes, although the podcasters claim it felt like time was flying. Once the episode is filmed, the guests get to hit the step-and-repeat for those super glam photos we’re all used to seeing. It sounds like filming an episode of WWHL is even more of a dream come true than we could’ve expected, which is hard to believe.
Hey Andy, give us a call.
