Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of domestic violence allegations.
As if things in Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers’ contentious divorce weren’t already messy enough, they’re about to get worse.
On August 29, Denise submitted her witness list to the court, and Aaron’s 84-year-old mother, Patricia Phypers, is on it. Denise wants her mother-in-law to testify about any spousal abuse she witnessed. She’s also hoping the court will make her temporary restraining order against Aaron permanent.
According to Denise, Patricia will “testify regarding communications” she had with her daughter-in-law “regarding abuse perpetrated on [her] by [Aaron].” Her testimony is expected to last about an hour.

In addition to his mom, Us Weekly reports that Aaron will also be called to the stand for a lengthy testimony.
While she is expected to testify to “all facts pertaining to domestic violence perpetrated by” her estranged husband, Denise also plans to call three as yet unidentified witnesses. Two of the them are supposedly aware of Aaron’s alleged abuse. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum claimed the witness names were redacted for their protection.
On July 7, Aaron filed for divorce. Just days later, Denise began accusing him of abuse during their marriage and petitioned for a restraining order.
In her request for a restraining order, the Drop Dead Gorgeous star listed her complaints against the holistic healer. “Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me, and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages.”
Meanwhile, Aaron denies all of Denise’s claims of abuse, turning the tables on his former partner and saying she was the abuser.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is now streaming on Peacock. The show streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
