Real Housewives of Potomac Season 10 is right around the corner. But sadly, RHOP alum Candace Dillard Bassett won’t be joining the crew this season. And that’s because Candiace is focused on being a mom. The singer and reality TV star recently sat down with Real Housewives of New York alum Dorinda Medley to dish on motherhood and the health struggles that happened after her son was born.

While Candiace might not be on RHOP because of focusing on her son, she did take the time to join Season 4 of The Traitors. So, at least fans will get to see Candiace back in action for a little while. And in typical Candiace fashion, she is going to read someone for filth.
Still, Candiace’s main focus now is her son, Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett. Candiace discussed him and the health scare she had on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked with Dorinda.
First, she dished on how Jett was about to turn one year old (congrats!) and how he is a happy baby. She and Dorinda agreed you don’t remember what life was like before they arrived. But then Candiace mentioned her health scare.
She said, “I had a blood clot. So I gave birth; I was fine. And then a few days later I started having fevers and, like, night sweats. And my dad is a physician. He was like, “You need to go to the ER.” And I was like, “For what?” And I go, and they do a CAT scan, and I had a blood clot in my ovary.”
Candiace continued, “Had to be on blood thinners. It was very ghetto. It was like, ‘Is this motherhood? God, I don’t, this is not what I signed up for.’”
Dorinda summarized about motherhood, “No one tells you all the dirty secrets.” Candiace agreed. She added, “That’s why I’m saying it now because they don’t tell you. Motherhood is a miracle.”
