Corey Feldman Distracted During DWTS by Charlie Sheen Headlines, Says Source

TW: This article mentions rape.

Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars just sent home its first competitors. It’s never easy to leave a competition, but it must sting to be the first out the door. Unfortunately, actor Corey Feldman and his partner, Jenna Johnson, were sent home during Episode 2 in a double elimination. NBA star Baron Davis and DWTS pro Britt Stewart also go the boot. Now, sources are claiming that Corey may have been dealing with his feelings about Charlie Sheen.

Charlie’s Netflix documentary, aka Charlie Sheen, may have brought up some unsettling memories for Corey. And that may have affected his time in the ballroom.

Jenna confirmed that while other couples had started rehearsing, she hadn’t seen Corey since the cast announcement on Good Morning America. She clarified that the actor had “previous work engagements and personal stuff going on.” Meanwhile, Jenna’s brother-in-law, and former DWTS pro, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, hinted that Jenna was having an “uphill climb” with Corey.

An insider told Page Six that Corey felt “pretty defeated” after his elimination. “The most upsetting thing is the narrative that he didn’t show up and that he and his partner Jenna [Johnson] didn’t get along,” the source stated. “Corey showed up every day and worked his ass off.” The insider added, “He developed a great friendship with Jenna! He looks forward to meeting her son and staying in touch.”

However, the source claimed that Charlie’s documentary was a distraction for Corey. As you may recall, Corey accused Charlie of raping his friend, the late actor Corey Haim, an allegation that Charlie denied. “Corey attended a People magazine party with his DWTS cast mates while having to sit with the fact that Charlie Sheen was currently on the cover of the magazine,” an insider said.

Dancing with the Stars airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It streams on Hulu the next day.
