Divorce is not only ugly and messy, but it can also be very expensive. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Denise Richards is worried her contentious divorce from Aaron Phypers could leave her penniless.
Inside sources say that Denise has already paid “many tens of thousands” in legal fees. And it could get a whole lot worse if a judge grants Aaron’s request for spousal support.

Radar Online reports that Denise has already spent a chunk of her $6 million savings in the battle with her ex. Making matters worse is Aaron’s demand for substantial spousal support following the collapse of their five-year marriage.
“Denise is not worth as much as people think,” an insider shared. “Fact is, she’s burnt through a ton of money over the years … Even with all her fame, she’s never been in that mega-high pay bracket … If she and Aaron don’t figure this out quickly, she could end up in the poorhouse … Legal fees are absolutely bleeding her dry, so there’s a real fear this divorce could drain all her savings.”
While Denise is accusing Aaron of physical and mental abuse, her estranged husband claims she cheated on him. He also says she neglected their multiple pets, despite one of her dogs having cancer. Both of them deny the other’s claims.
“She’s so angry right now, she won’t listen to reason and just hire a mediator,” the source continued. “She doesn’t care how much she has to spend, she’s not just going to give in to Aaron’s demands … But Aaron’s got a very strong case for spousal support. So odds are she’s going to have to pay him out in the end on top of all the legal fees … It’s a nightmare.”
