Gia Giudice Is Finally Moving from the Family Home — Find Out Mom Teresa’s Reaction

From jumping from helicopters to intense fist fights, Gia Giudice is getting ready for another big milestone in her life. She’s moving out of the family home. That’s right, Teresa Giudice of Real Housewives of New Jersey is getting ready to say goodbye to her daughter as she makes the big move into her first apartment.

It’s not that uncommon for most Housewives to say goodbye to their babies as they grow. Kyle Richards of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has touched on the subject of the empty nest. But for a close-knit Italian family like Gia’s, it’s not uncommon for the kids to stay home until they get married. So it’s a big step for both daughter and mom.

Teresa Giudice gets emotional about Gia’s big move

Teresa is definitely getting emotional about Gia’s big move. The mother and daughter duo appeared on Sherri where they talked about their time on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test and Gia’s exciting new milestone.

“Gia, she’s going to be leaving us. She’s moving out next month,” Teresa shared (at the 31:12 mark). “She’s moving out next month.”

Despite being understandably a little sad about this, Teresa is also very excited for Gia to experience living on her own. “I’m so happy for her, because I went from living with my parents to living with my husband,” Teresa shared. “So I want my kids to experience what I didn’t experience, so I’m happy for her. I swear, I’m happy for her.”

That’s usually how it goes in families like Teresa’s, and something Gia touched on recently when she said she had no plans of moving out yet. Looks like a lot can change in just a couple of months. Gia also clarified that she’s making the move on her own, and not with her boyfriend, Christian Carmichael.

“I’m doing it on my own too,” she explained. “Even though I am in a relationship, he’s super supportive too. And I’m really excited for this chapter by myself.” She even shared that she’s not worried about chores and maintaining her place because that was something instilled in the kids by Teresa since they were young.

“I want to live vicariously through her because I never got to do that (be on her own),” Teresa said. She looked really happy, albeit a bit emotional, talking about Gia leaving the nest. She’s grateful, though, that she’ll still have her younger babies with her at home.

Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test airs on Fox on Thursdays at 9/8c.
