Witney Carson is putting on her protective big sister hat when it comes to Dancing with the Stars partner Robert Irwin. The two aren’t only tearing up the dance floor, they’ve also become close as siblings during the entire process.
Robert has been turning heads ever since he signed on to the reality dancing competition. People can’t help but be drawn in by his infectious charm and positivity. He’s truly embodying his dad’s charisma. And people are noticing, especially when he went shirtless during their salsa number.

Witney even harbored some regrets about having him go shirtless so early in the competition. He took people’s breath away for sure, but the downside was that Robert’s DMs were suddenly flooded with fans.
His partner couldn’t help but feel protective of him like a big sister might. The two are so close they already feel like family.
“We are just having the best time,” Robert shared with US Weekly. “I feel like we’ve become like this brother and sister duo.”
“100 percent,” Witney agreed. “I feel very protective over him, especially when the DMs get a little crazy, I get a little protective.”
She’s been playing matchmaker for Robert, being sure to screen his messages. She also joked that her DMs were flooded with applications from ladies hoping to meet the adorable wildlife conservationist. She can’t blame the fans for their interest.
“He is an absolute dream partner and very humble,” Witney admitted. “I gotta knock him down a little bit sometimes, keep you grounded, critique you a bit more. But no, he is as great as you guys see on TV.”
The pair has shown they have a great connection on the dance floor during their Disney night cha-cha performance. Next week, the pair will be dancing a special dedication to Robert’s family and his mom, Terri Irwin. It’s sure to be really special.
Dancing with the Stars Season 34 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It will stream on Hulu the next day.
