Aaron Phypers Charged With Injuring Denise Richards and Dissuading a Witness

Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of domestic violence allegations.

New details have emerged about Aaron Phypers’s arrest. The estranged husband of Denise Richards was arrested outside of a courtroom after a contentious hearing on Friday, October 17. He was held on a $200,000 bond before being released hours later.

At the time, Aaron and his legal team theorized that the arrest was related to Denise’s claims of abuse. Now that the charging documents have come through, we can confirm that’s definitely the case. Aaron was arrested for injuring the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star.

Hours after Aaron’s arrest, he posted bail. He posed for a picture with the bail bondswoman, grinning about being let out of jail. However, new arrest documents reviewed by TMZ confirm that there’s nothing to be smiling about here.

Aaron was charged with two felony counts of injuring a spouse, along with two felony counts of dissuading a witness by force or threat. Prior to the arrest, Denise made shocking claims in court about injuries sustained from Aaron’s alleged abuse.

According to Denise, there were times throughout her marriage to Aaron where she feared for her life. Aaron’s cousin, a doctor who previously worked at his defunct wellness center, backed up Denise’s claims in court, providing eyewitness accounts of various violent outbursts. She called Aaron an alcoholic and told the courts that she hesitated to speak up because she was afraid for her safety.

Throughout this ordeal, Aaron has vehemently denied claims of abuse. After his arrest, his legal team put out a statement accusing Denise of putting out “false acucsations.” The exes are due in court next month as Denise continues to try to get her temporary restraining order against him made permanent.
