Selling Sunset star Mary Bonnet has made a big change in her life. The real estate agent and entrepreneur has decided to stop drinking. According to Mary, there was no traumatic incident or personal struggle with alcohol. Still, there is a story behind it all. She dished on the reasons why she made the change and why alcohol “wasn’t serving” her anymore.

Mary has had a lot going on as of late with cast. Season 9 of her show Selling Sunset dropped, and there was still plenty of drama with her and Chelsea Lazkani. Tensions between the two heightened when Chelsea sent her flowers, and Mary felt the gesture wasn’t sincere.
After the season wrapped, Mary is also now struggling with her former bestie, Chrishell Stause. Chrishell made a big announcement she was leaving the show. However, she is not leaving on good terms with Mary. Chrishell is fully Team Chelsea, leaving Mary “hurt” by her friend.
Still, Mary has put all the drama on pause to focus on her well-being. And this included the big decision to stop drinking. Mary gave the details as to why to Gurus Magazine.
She explained, “I didn’t have a problem; nothing bad happened, but I realized it wasn’t serving me anymore. What used to help me relax started giving me anxiety. So I stopped.”
And Mary has no regrets. She is loving how she is feeling and is living her best life. Mary said, “I’m the best version of me. I have my mocktail, and I feel proud of myself. I’m grounded and centered in a way I’ve never been.”
Mary also shared how her background has made her more compassionate towards others. She noted, “When people do things, there’s something bigger going on. That’s why I always try to lead with compassion.”
With this new decision to quit drinking and a focus on compassion, perhaps Mary will be able to make things right with Chrishell and Chelsea after all.
