Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kandi Burruss and her husband of 11 years, Todd Tucker, have decided to end their marriage. The couple met while Kandi was on a RHOA cast trip. In 2014, Todd and Kandi tied the knot in an elaborate wedding, which also scored its own Bravo spinoff.
Last year, rumors swirled that there might be trouble in the couple’s marriage. However, Kandi shot down the rumors. Still, RHOA viewers know that Kandi’s mom, Mama Joyce, was never a member of Todd’s fan club. Still, the fact that the couple is calling it quits is a bit of a surprise.

Recently, fans noted that Kandi wasn’t wearing her wedding ring at BravoCon. And, Todd wasn’t present when Kandi won the Wifetime Achievement Award at the event, although she did give him a shout-out. The theater producer may not have a Tony, but I’m sure this makes up for it.
However, Kandi broke some shocking news about the state of her marriage. “After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce,” Kandi said in a statement to PEOPLE. “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”
The statement continued, “I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family,” she added. Kandi and Todd share two children, Ace and Blaze. Plus, both have children from previous relationships. Kandi has a daughter, Next Gen NYC star Riley Burruss, while Todd has a daughter, Kaela.
Breaking up is never easy, so let’s hope that the split between this duo remains amicable.
