Margaret Josephs of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is focusing on gratitude as she talks about her husband Joe Benigno’s health journey. In Season 14 of RHONJ, fans learned that Joe had prostate cancer. According to Margaret, Joe is currently thriving, and she’s so thankful for where he is today.
Margaret Josephs says husband Joe Benigno’s “cancer has not changed” or “advanced at all”
The longtime Bravolebrity spoke with The Daily Dish at BravoCon 2025 and talked about Joe’s current health condition. She shared that there were several treatment options available, but they opted against surgery for tumor removal.
She shared that the cancer appears to be very slow-growing, and for now, they are just continuing to observe him. It hasn’t advanced in the past year.
“Joe’s feeling great,” she shared. “His cancer has not changed. Not advanced at all. He gets checked regularly. He’s feeling great. He just had a very big birthday. He just turned 70 the day before we left for BravoCon. Can you believe he’s 70? He looks unbelievable. BravoCon is his birthday party.”
In Season 14 of RHONJ, Joe’s condition was first explored when they found he had elevated PSA (prostate-specific antigen) levels. The doctors later confirmed he had a cancerous prostate tumor.
While they could have removed it, for now, Joe is opting for active monitoring. Margaret said that the removal also comes with side effects. And since the need isn’t immediate, they will continue to carefully monitor him first. “They said it might not grow for 10 years, so they’ll just check on him every few months,” she confirmed.
Considering that Joe’s feeling “great,” does this mean it’s possible Margaret will be back when RHONJ finalizes its new cast? She’s alluded to this before. And while no announcement was made at BravoCon, Andy Cohen did mention they are very close to getting RHONJ where they want it.
