Divorce ain’t easy, and Kandi Burruss is in the thick of it. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star filed for divorce from Todd Tucker last month, and things are starting to get messy both in and out of the courtroom. Between the rumors, allegations, and custody demands, there’s a lot to keep up with, and Kandi just issued a reminder to fans that she’s still human underneath it all.
Kandi Burruss gave an update for fans on Instagram
On Instagram, Kandi shared an emotional post, showing a montage of highlights from her past year. She shared pictures with her family, moments from her podcast, and vacations around the world. She was all smiles in the pictures, but in reality, she was quietly navigating the demise of her 11-year marriage.
“This is what I look like when I’m going through something,” Kandi wrote in the caption.” I show up for my family, I show up for my friends, I show up to handle my business, & I show up with a smile all while on the inside I’m emotionally broken.”
She continued, “In every pic of this video I was internally dealing with something life changing that most of the people in the pics with me had no clue of my inner stress & sadness.”
Kandi admitted that she doesn’t normally like to “share stuff like this,” but she wanted to remind fans that some people “internalize” their stress while putting on a strong facade. The message resonated with folks from the Bravoverse and beyond.
“God will never give you more than you can handle. Sending love, prayer & strength,” wrote Cynthia Bailey.
“This is real … sending love to you,” added Drew Sidora, who has been navigating a divorce of her own.
While Kandi heals from her heartbreak, she’s pressing forward in the courtroom against Todd. In her latest motion, she asked a judge to keep the divorce sealed. She argued that it would be in the best interest of their children to keep details of their split confidential.
