Once again, besties Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen ushered in the New Year with plenty of laughs and alcoholic beverages. The duo hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live broadcast. Fans adore Anderson’s trademark giggle and Andy’s tipsy hot takes.
However, one person who wasn’t laughing at Andy’s hijinks was outgoing mayor Eric Adams. Andy launched into a rant, slamming the former mayor. Naturally, former mayor Adams responded, “Public intoxication is a disease. [Andy] should seek help.” And if that wasn’t enough, sources are alleging that there is friction between Andy and Anderson. It seems their troubles stem from a longtime feud.
Is Kathy Griffin causing issues between Andy and Anderson?
RadarOnline reported that Anderson was allegedly miffed because Andy secretly reached out to Kathy Griffin. For 10 years, Kathy hosted the CNN New Year’s special with her close friend, Anderson. However, in 2017, she was fired after she posted a controversial and disturbing photo. In the snap, Kathy was holding a bloodied and obviously fake head that looked like President Donald Trump.
Once she was out the door, Andy took her spot. During BravoCon, Andy revealed that he emailed Kathy. While Kathy confirmed that she received an email, she added that it didn’t include an apology.
“There are old emails, late-night confessions, real history,” a source told RadarOnline. “Anderson does not want that dragged back out.” In addition, after this year’s New Year’s Eve special, sources are alleging that the network is considering cutting Andy loose because of his “embarrassing” behavior.
Meanwhile, Kathy also has a complicated history with Andy. Her show, Life on the D-List, ran on Bravo for five years. “[Andy] was terrible to me. He fired me from Bravo,” Kathy previously stated. “He was a horrible boss the entire time I was there.”
We will have to wait and see if Kathy and Andy try to repair their friendship, and how Anderson feels about it.
