Aesha Scott is a seasoned Bravolebrity and a favorite cast member on Below Deck. She served as chief stew to Captain Jason Chambers on the first two seasons of Below Deck Down Under. The New Zealand native got on well with her boss, and always spoke highly of his management style.
Her tenure on Below Deck Mediterranean is longer, with four seasons under her belt. Aesha was a second stew in Seasons 4 and 5. Then returned as chief for Seasons 9 and 10. Captain Sandy Yawn has been at the healm all the while. So Aesha is well suited to give her opinion on working with both of the captains. And she’s previously said how similar they are.
Can Aesha name one thing Captain Jason does better than Captain Sandy?
Aesha was put on the spot during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live. Given all the crossover casting though, it’s a fair enough question.
“Name one way you prefer Captain Jason’s management style over Captain Sandy,” Aesha was asked.
The reality TV star paused to reflect before answering, “Oh, I don’t know. I guess I liked that he was such a bro.”
“Ok, you like a bro,” host Andy Cohen clarified.
Jason is certainly well-liked as a boss. And he is always willing to jump into the fray and help with any menial task. He’s fair but tough. The same can be said about Sandy. However, her decision to fire former chief stew Hannah Ferrier is still a controversial one.
As for Aesha, everyone loves to work with her. She’s been praised for her empathy and strong work ethic. To her credit as well, the Drop coconut water founder has spoken positively of both Jason and Sandy.
Jason may be the preferred boss, but when it comes to her big day, Sandy scored an invite. In a previous episode of WWHL, Aesha revealed that she did not invite Jason to her March 2026 wedding to Scott Dobson.
