Vanderpump Rules Cast Member Reveals They Almost Relapsed

Vanderpump Rules newbie Shayne Davis recently opened up about his struggles with addiction. His co-star Marcus Johnson had picked him up to talk about the upcoming film festival Shayne’s short film was premiering at. However, Shayne turned the conversation to his dad’s visit, which had almost caused him to relapse again.

While Shayne’s reputation on the show has mostly been focused on his player ways, there is much more to Shayne than his dramatic dating life.

Shayne admitted to Natalie Maguire that he had been shot three times when he defended his friend. And now, in Season 12, Episode 6, he revealed to Marcus that he almost relapsed when his father came to visit.

He told Marcus, “I don’t know what overcame me. But I stopped at the smoke shop. And I picked up a bottle of Kratom.”

In his confessional, Shayne said, “I’ve been sober for two and a half years. I’ve got 10 years off alcohol, I have 12 years off meth, 12 years off fentanyl. And right now I’ve got two and a half years off marijuana, Adderall, and mushrooms, and DMT, and Ketamine.” He added he had his first drink at five years old, and his family introduced him to crack cocaine.

Marcus asked Shayne, “So, did you do it?” Shayne responded, “No. I put it down … I had three years clean, bro. The last time I walked in the store and got the Kratom, that was a two-year relapse.” He added, “I put the drugs back down, and I went to the airport, and I picked my dad up, and it was fine.”

Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. It can be streamed on Peacock the next day.
