Why Lisa Vanderpump Gave This Pump Rules Staff Member a Major Warning

It’s no secret that the Pride celebration is a big deal at Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR restaurant. As an establishment doing business in West Hollywood, supporting the local community is high on her priority list.

But when Lisa put one of her Vanderpump Rules SUR-vers in charge of her annual Pride party, she soon had second thoughts.

With the Pride celebration approaching, Lisa decided that Venus Binkley would be a good choice to organize the SUR party.

“I have been waiting for this moment my whole life,” Venus said in a confessional. “West Hollywood has been my safe space for the last five years.”

Confiding in Lisa, he shared, “When I was younger … I was afraid of people finding out that I was gay,”

“Once I did come out of the closet, I felt so rejected by everyone around me [that] I ended up threatening to kill myself,” he added. “I got sent to a mental hospital.” This revelation struck a chord with Lisa, whose brother Mark took his own life in 2018.

But before the party even started, Lisa wondered if she’d put the right person in charge. When she asked if he’d distributed the fliers she’d given him, he said, “Me and all the girls are going … out Friday night, and we’re going to pass them all around West Hollywood.”

“That’s a bit late, isn’t it? Listen, this is all on you,” she warned. “If it goes wrong, I’m coming to you. Remember what I told you? This is your moment.”

Additionally, Venus confessed that he’d already blown his party budget. “My Pride budget is $500,” he told producers. “But I spent $250 of my own.”

“I bought a big blow-up unicorn pool floatie, water guns for the boys, tons of streamers,” he said. “So I spent $750 on pride – and a little bit of my dignity.”

Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock the following day.
