Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby is navigating a tragedy that no parent should experience. Last week, Mary and her husband, Robert Cosby Sr.’s only child, Robert Cosby Jr., passed away. It was a devastating loss for Mary and the entire Bravo family.
Mary released a statement announcing her son’s death. ”Our beloved son Robert Jr. has been called home to the Lord. Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace,” Mary said. When Robert Jr. passed away on February 23, the police department responded to a call for a possible overdose.
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 7 is back in production
According to The Hollywood Reporter, production has begun on Season 7 of RHOSLC. Reportedly, production was paused in the wake of Robert Jr.’s tragic death. While Bravo has not commented on casting for Season 7, Mary is not currently filming. It seems that Bravo is letting Mary have the time that she needs.
Meanwhile, previous reports have claimed that Mary is allegedly planning to film for the upcoming season. According to insiders, Mary felt that working would give her some “structure” as she grieved her tragic loss. During Seasons 5 and 6 of the show, Mary and Robert Jr. had several frank and emotional conversations about his struggles with addiction. Their conversations were some of the most impactful moments ever filmed for Real Housewives.
During the Season 6 RHOSLC reunion, Mary revealed that her son was in jail. “I know he’s somewhere where he’s not using. At some point, I have to step back so that he can learn and he can make his own decisions,” Mary explained at the time, “and unfortunately, he’s learning the hard way.” Finally, Robert Jr. was released from jail in early February.
