After scouring of the streets of Manhattan, Andy Cohen has supposedly found the perfect group of women to star on Real Housewives of New York Season 16. After an “indefinite” pause, the Bravo executive seems confident that the new grouping will be a hit with viewers.
It’s going to be a mix of newbies, plus Season 15 favorites Erin Lichy, Sai De Silva, and Jessel Taank. And former cast member Carole Radziwill is back as a friend of the new group. According to Andy, the journalist is a better match to the current group than when she starred in Seasons 5 to 10.
Carole’s addition to Real Housewives of New York Season 16 is “organic”
“We’re excited that Carole is coming back as a friend,” Andy shared during a SXSW panel for NBC Universal Media Group on March 15. “People love seeing familiar faces and old friends.”
The Bravo executive is aware of the confusion surrounding “Carole’s connection to this group.” He didn’t offer an explanation. But Andy promised that the synergy will feel very “organic.”
“Carole keeps pointing out, ‘I actually know more people in this group than I did when I joined the original show in season 5 all those years ago,’” Andy revealed.
Season 16 is currently filming, after a disappointing finale with the rebooted cast. Andy thinks producers finally got “it right.”
“We know that the elements that are super important, certainly in New York and any other cast, is that the women have a deep connection as a group,” he explained. “The new cast really has that.”
Supposedly, they bring “a great deal of humor” to their dynamic. Unlike, the pregnancy prank of Season 15. Andy also praised the new cast for sharing “real things happening in their lives” “in front of the camera.” Production for Season 16 has started. And whatever remaining RHONY fans there are are promised a season that “is going to deliver.”
