Carl Radke’s Alcohol-Free Bar Hosts Pregnant and New Mom Nights

Carl Radke is expanding the sober community. The Summer House star had a vision in opening Soft Bar + Cafe. It’s been over five years since he’s been sober. And Carl is very passionate about the lifestyle.

After finally succeeding in opening the physical space in September 2025, Carl is rethinking ways to define sober living. It’s also serving a financial purpose of course. His Greenpoint, Brooklyn bar is getting more patrons through the door with the good idea of having a mom’s night.

“I really believe in building a third space. A community. A foundation of mindful consumption. And it’s not all about sobriety. It’s about connection and taking better care of yourself. ‘Oh by the way, we don’t serve alcohol.’ Of course, you’re going to have sober people that come. I’m sober. I’m proud of that,” Carl told People.

Carl tragically lost his brother Curtis to addiction in August 2020. The loss was a major factor in him cutting alcohol out of his life. And opening Soft Bar was another step on his journey.

He further explained the purpose of the bar, “But a lot of people that we want to come to Soft Bar are people taking a break. There are people that don’t drink for a variety of reasons. Every Friday, we have a group of pregnant moms. And or new moms with their babies in strollers. And it’s a beautiful thing to see. because we provide an incredible experience and space for these women to hang out with other moms. Talk about baby stuff, mom stuff.”

Carl concluded, “So it’s not just limited to non-alcoholic cocktails and hanging out. It’s a real place for people to come together and be themselves and connect with other people.”
