RHOM’s Lisa Hochstein ‘Could Face up to Five Years of Prison Time’ if Convicted – Expert

Last week, Lisa Hochstein turned herself in on a felony warrant and gagged us all with her extra-muggy mug shot. However, the legal trouble for The Real Housewives of Miami star is nothing to smile about. She could seriously end up in prison.

Lisa and her ex-boyfriend, Jody Glidden, each face one felony charge of intercepting wire, oral, or electronic communications. The accusation stems back to 2023, when Lisa was still going through her divorce from ex-husband, Lenny Hochstein. Allegedly, they planted a listening device in Lenny’s car, and it could result in some serious jail time.

Rachael Bennet, a senior attorney at Sullivan Law & Associates, recently appeared on Us Weekly’s Legally Us podcast. She didn’t mince her words when talking about Lisa’s “pretty serious” charges.

“They’re accused of secretly bugging Lenny’s car with a listening device. Now, some states require what’s called an All Party Consent. If you’re going to record someone, and in Florida, that’s definitely one of the laws there,” Rachael began.

She continued, “That means that if you record someone without their knowledge or permission, that recording is considered to have been obtained illegally in Florida. In Florida, this is considered a third-degree felony, which means she could face up to five years of prison time if she’s convicted.”

To put things in perspective, Jen Shah from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City received six and a half years in prison. She scammed hundreds of elderly people out of millions of dollars. Lisa going down for five years over a listening device seems a little insane. Let’s hope Lisa’s lawyers know they’re doing.

So far, they’ve argued that the case was related to the “contentious divorce” between Lisa and Lenny and didn’t belong in criminal court. The attorney who spoke to Us Weekly didn’t seem convinced by that narrative.

“As we all know, divorces can absolutely bring out the worst kind of behavior from even the most reasonable people,” the lawyer continued. “But this defense could also be seen as an effort to downplay the situation, so I think she’s going to have to be careful not to minimize her actions here if these claims are true.”

The Real Housewives of Miami is streaming on Peacock.
