Taylor Frankie Paul’s future on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives isn’t guaranteed. Although filming for Season 5 has resumed, an insider has revealed it won’t initially include the former star, but there is an “option” for her to return.
The axed Bachelorette “has the option to return” for SLOMW Season 5
To recap, Taylor has not had the easiest ride of late. Her much-anticipated season of The Bachelorette was recently pulled at the very last minute due to an ongoing domestic assault investigation involving her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. This also prompted a weeks-long pause in filming on SLOMW Season 5.
Now, a source has told PEOPLE that Taylor and Dakota will not film when production resumes on the upcoming season. This isn’t final, however. “[She] has the option to return,” the insider said, explaining that she may make an appearance.
Over on social media, however, Taylor seemed to disagree with this. A screenshot (shared by a reality TV account on Instagram) appears to show the mom-of-three shutting down the claim. “Interesting, that’s not the call I got,” she commented on PEOPLE’s post of the story.
“Like it or not, the show is nothing without her,” someone said in the comment section of Taylor’s potential exit from SLOMW. “If Taylor is not on, I won’t watch and actually will cancel my Hulu altogether,” said someone else.
Not everyone felt the same, though. “Girl, go get yourself healed,” a concerned fan wrote. “I would love to see a season without her, honestly. I was exhausted by her sh*t last season,” said another viewer.
Elsewhere in PEOPLE’s report, the insider shared details about Taylor’s well-being amid all this. “She’s receiving strong support from the cast and producers,” they said. “But [she] is focusing on her kids and mental health issues and recovery from an abusive relationship.”
“She’s doing great, and realizing how abusive her relationship actually was,” the insider added.
