Fans of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives received some good news. The series will resume filming for Season 5. As you may recall, filming was halted because of an open domestic violence investigation involving MomTok creator Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen.
Police were investigating a complaint from February 2026, in which both parties blamed the other. Meanwhile, Dakota contacted the West Jordan police department about a 2024 domestic violence incident. In the end, the district attorney’s office declined to file charges against Taylor in the two cases.
The SLOMW stars made claims against each other
US Weekly reviewed a Draper Police Department report, stating that Dakota reportedly shared a total of six videos with police. In one September 2024 video, Dakota filmed Taylor while they were in bed together with their son, Ever. The trio was apparently staying in a hotel.
When Taylor allegedly asked why she was being filmed, Dakota responded that it was because she was “attacking” him. He claimed to have a red mark on his face, while Taylor accused him of “pinching” her.
Dakota and Taylor continued to squabble about whether Dakota was “emotionally abusive.” Then, Taylor’s ex-boyfriend claimed that she allegedly “beat him” for a couple of years. The fighting continued as Taylor stated that she did not want to be filmed.
Recently, Dakota shared via social media that he is taking “a step back and away from the chaos.” Meanwhile, Dakota was granted a protective order against Taylor, along with temporary custody of Ever. Taylor was granted up to eight hours of supervised visitation with her son each week until the next hearing.
In addition, an insider has claimed that Taylor “has the option to return” to SLOMW.
