Kash Patel’s past might be catching up to him. The FBI Director disclosed some information while applying for the bar in Florida years ago. He previously worked in the Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s office, and in a letter, reportedly got into his past behavior.
The issues stem from alleged incidents involving him over 20 years ago. All of this resurfacing comes as Kash recently denied having a problem with alcohol. The letter he wrote before his time as a public defender in Florida is coming to light.
The government official was reportedly arrested twice

Actions have consequences. This is a hard lesson Kash supposedly learned years ago by the sounds of things. The Intercept obtained a copy of his letter to the Florida bar. The future FBI director digs into some of what happened to him, including a pair of reported arrests for offenses that involved alcohol.
One was for public intoxication in 2001 while he was a junior at the University of Richmond. He admits he was under 21 at the time and was kicked out of a basketball game for excessive cheering in the stands. He had to pay a fine.
The second arrest took place around February/March 2005 after a night of celebrating with friends. He said in his letter that he walked home “in a gross deviation from appropriate conduct.” Kash added that he and his friends “attempted to relieve our bladders.” The police busted him for public urination and ordered him to pay a fine.
The uncovering of those incidents comes as the FBI Director is fighting back against allegations of a drinking problem. He filed a $250 million lawsuit against the publication The Atlantic. Kash called what they said, “a lie.”
For their part, The Atlantic has backed their claims and doesn’t appear to be afraid to answer to the lawsuit in court. Last week, the publication posted another story against the FBI Director. According to them, Kash’s alleged drinking and apparent unexplained absences are raising red flags among his colleagues.
