Meghan Markle’s Dad Recalls Duchess ‘Wanting To Be the Star’

Royal biographer shares what Thomas Markle told him about daughter Meghan Markle

Royal biographer Tom Bower is not mincing words while talking about Meghan Markle in “The Daily Expresso” podcast with JJ Anisiobi. The Duchess of York has reportedly been estranged from her father, Thomas Markle, since 2018. And now Bower, author of the book “Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family,” has spoken about Meghan amid Thomas’s claim that his daughter always wanted to be “a star.”

Meghan’s father reportedly once told the author about a conversation he had with his daughter when she “was 5 years old.” Thomas, who was previously a “very successful lighting director in Hollywood,” once took Meghan to a “red carpet on some opening night.” “And she said ‘Daddy I want to do this, I want to be the star’. And that was it, she wanted to be the star,” Bower told the host.

The author then continued that “she failed,” and lost “on her own terms because the highest she got was Suits,” which was just a “small program, nothing very important.” But Markle then “became the star by getting married to Harry, a global star, but instead of being happy with that and taking the terms, she was determined that everything had to be on her terms,” and “that was destructive,” believed the author. He even added that Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey was also “just so unfair and wrong.”

Although the Duchess of York has not responded to his claims, Prince Harry and Meghan have previously slammed his latest book, claiming it was a “deranged conspiracy”. They also said in the statement that Bower has “made a career out of constructing ever more elaborate theories about people he does not know and has never met.”
