Martha Stewart has shared her thoughts on Meghan Markle’s cooking show, With Love, Meghan. The Martha Stewart Show alum said that navigating the transition from Hollywood actress to royalty and then to a homemaking-focused television figure can be a complicated process.
Martha Stewart opened up about Meghan Markle’s latest career chapter following a recent dinner together
The 85-year-old lifestyle icon discussed the matter in the August 5 issue of People. She said, while referencing the Duchess of Sussex’s recent UK trip with Prince Harry and their two children, “I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night. We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace. I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple of words, but I know she was talking about it.”
When the interviewer asked for her thoughts on Markle stepping into the cooking-show space with her own series, Stewart replied, “If you’re an actress, it’s hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show. It doesn’t sort of follow. So go from there.”
Following their decision to leave the royal family in 2020 and move to the U.S., the Duke and Duchess of Sussex pursued different professional projects. In 2025, Markle introduced her brand, As Ever, while also debuting her show on Netflix, reports Page Six.
At the time, Stewart took a jab at the Suits alum’s expanding career beyond acting. In July 2025, the lifestyle influencer told Yahoo Lifestyle, “Meghan, I don’t really know very well, and I hope she knows what she’s talking about.” She emphasized that authenticity was everything to her and that being genuine and knowledgeable about one’s subject matter was extremely important.
The series, which premiered on March 4, 2025, and ran for two seasons, featured Markle and several familiar faces preparing dishes and sharing hosting advice. However, the show is not expected to be renewed for a third season on Netflix, according to Harper’s Bazaar UK.
