It looks like Love Island USA alum Huda Mustafa has one less thing to worry about because her boyfriend, Louis Russell, has dropped the ongoing custody battle with his ex-girlfriend, Nicole Olivera.
This messy legal saga has been going on for a couple of months. Louis, who reality TV fans know from Too Hot To Handle, took Nicole to court and claimed that she was wrongfully blocking him from seeing their 1-year-old son, Luka-Kai. In the process, Huda got exposed for some potentially problematic behavior.
Louis Russell claims his ex uses their son as “bargaining chip”
In the original court docs, Louis accused Nicole of using their son as a “bargaining chip.” He said she threatened to move herself and their son out of the state, and he was hoping that the courts would help them work out a custody plan.
Meanwhile, Nicole had some grievances of her own. She filed a restraining order against Huda, claiming that the Love Island star had been making threats against her, Luka-Kai, and Huda’s five-year-old daughter.
In the court docs, Nicole claimed that Huda crashed out and accused Louis of cheating on her with Nicole. She told the court about one day when she allegedly spent 12 hours sending “terrifying and extremely mentally unstable threats.” For example, the court docs said she threatened to “jump off buildings” and swore on her daughter’s life that she would kill herself.
Elsewhere in the court docs, Nicole accused Huda of showing up at her house in the middle of the night and trying to break in while Louis was there with his son. She also exposed a series of alleged text messages that Huda sent to Louis, where she accused him of cheating.
Although the Love Island alum denied all of the accusations, a judge granted Nicole a temporary restraining order against Huda.
At the time, it seemed like Louis was going to continue fighting for a custody arrangement. However, all of this mess must have caused him to have a change of heart. TMZ confirmed that he has dropped the case.
According to the court docs, he withdrew the case on April 28. He no longer wanted to pursue the custody plan. Instead, he asked the court to dismiss the case without prejudice.
Louis hasn’t commented on the latest update in this messy situation or provided an explanation for the sudden switch-up. For the kid’s sake, let’s just hope they’re back on the same page and can co-parent the right way.
