Victoria Beckham is pushing back against the claims made by Brooklyn Beckham in his bombshell statement earlier this year.
In January, Brooklyn posted a string of allegations about his family, including that their brand is prioritized above all else. He also described his family as “performative” and “inauthentic,” and even accused his mom of trying to ruin his wedding.
Victoria wants her kids to be “happy” and “work hard”
In contrast to Brooklyn’s many claims, Victoria said on a podcast this week that she’s not a “pushy” parent.
“I think that it’s very different parenting adult children to parenting smaller children,” she said on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast. “I’m just trying to do the best that I can.”
“We don’t put any pressure on our kids,” the former Spice Girl continued of her and David Beckham, with whom she shares four children. “We just want them to do what they love and to work hard and to be happy.”
Offering up an example, Victoria commented on Cruz Beckham’s latest foray into the world of music. “Anything that I could do to support him, to encourage and to help him, that’s my job as his mom,” she explained. “It’s never about being pushy or forcing. It’s being there to support.”
Since the Beckham feud was put into the spotlight earlier this year, Victoria has stayed pretty quiet on the topic. But sources have given an insight into how she’s managing behind closed doors.
“Victoria is absolutely in pieces,” an insider recently told Closer. “She’s spent 30 years meticulously crafting the Brand Beckham image of the perfect, unbreakable family, and now she feels like her own children are the ones tearing it down.”
