Kash Patel is beginning to reek of desperation. That’s the claim being flung at the FBI Director whose job is said to be in limbo from an apparent drinking problem. The Atlantic made those massive claims against him in an article earlier this year. Kash has been fighting back against those allegations.
Now, a new bombshell report says that the former public defender is ordering lie detector tests to see if there might be a mole among them. Two dozen people on his team are reportedly being subjected to this.
Ben Williamson denied the FBI director was snubbing senior staff
The FBI appears to be in turmoil, with paranoia running rampant. MS Now reports that Kash has walled himself off from senior bureau leaders this week. This comes in the aftermath of his leadership ability being questioned. FBI spokesman Ben Williamson denied those claims while declining to comment about the polygraph allegations. Ben says that he’s been in the operational meetings with Kash all week.
This all began when a less-than-flattering article about Kash appeared in The Atlantic. It alleges that he drinks heavily while questioning his work habits. The magazine has backed writer Sarah Fitzpatrick on her reporting, while Kash filed a $250 million lawsuit in response.
It seems like this could be another extreme measure being taken by the FBI Director. Suggestions of polygraph tests come on the heels of some other big steps he’s said to be taking. MS Now is also reporting that Kash ordered a team of FBI agents to open a criminal leak investigation into The Atlantic’s story. Insiders claim that those who don’t adhere to Kash’s directions will be fired.
The alleged lie detector tests come after public reporting about Kash making a request to obtain a gun. That request was routed to Quantico and mentioned by an agent on a call with others. Kash remains in his role for now amid all this craziness.
