Vanderpump Rules alum Katie Maloney has been away from reality TV for nearly three years now. Though she felt “a little traumatized” toward the end of Pump Rules, she’s taking the plunge back into reality.
Though they were originally close, Katie had a bit of a falling out with Stassi Schroeder after Stassi was fired. But a recent trailer for Stassi’s new Hulu show House of Stassi revealed that Katie filmed for the new show.
On May 4, Katie was a guest on the Humble Brag podcast. She spoke about her VPR experience and how she was “forced” to do certain things on reality TV.

“The last thing I filmed was in 2023,” Katie shared. “It’s been really nice just to live a soft life [with] no one up in my business. [I] don’t have to be friends with people I don’t want to be friends with … including my ex.”
“I don’t hate [Tom Schwartz], but we needed that type of separation from one another,” she continued. “[Filming reality TV] on a different network, it … has a different life to it. I’m happy to be back on there.”
She added that House of Stassi “just kind of [picked] up our lives where they are now … A lot of [her life] is very family-oriented, her sister, her husband, her kids, some of their best friends, and then me.”
“This is really … going to [document] our road back to friendship in this phase of life that is very different,” she said. “We’re on very different life paths right now. She’s … married, two kids. I’m divorced, and, you know, newly dating someone else, but it’s really wonderful.”
The House of Stassi premiers on Freeform on July 29. The full season will be available to stream the following day, Thursday, July 30, on Hulu and Disney+.
