The Season 7 reunion of Vanderpump Rules ended with a bang. The majority of the cast seemed united on one thing, slamming James Kennedy. Because
they are all hypocrites James made some unflattering comments towards Katie Maloney, he was fired from SUR. We even saw James begging for his job back from Lisa Vanderpump. Does James drink? Yes. Does James maybe participate in other substances that could alter his personality? Perhaps. But he was condemned for something other cast members engage in as well.
James is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. His apologies fall on deaf ears and are often not accepted. Viewers saw him make attempts at therapy, helping his family, and trying to be better. Like a child or untrained puppy, when he received little to no positive reinforcement regarding his efforts, he lapsed into a “give no f*cks” attitude. In a moment of clarity, one Pump Rules persona did offer James and tortured girlfriend Raquel Leviss an apology. Oddly enough, the world did not implode when this phenomenon occurred.
Love him or hate him, Vanderpump Rules James Kennedy has every right being on the show that made him famous. At least according to him.
He’s hanging on to Pump Rules relevancy by a thread but, much like an unwanted guest, he’s not about to leave of his own accord.
Bravo’s most popular executive, Andy Cohen, recently had a baby boy this year. The initial news was a surprise to everyone. Especially to the OG housewives, Kyle Richards, NeNe Leakes, Teresa Giudice, Ramona Singer, and Vicki Gunvalson who were in attendance when Andy dropped the bombshell he was having a baby in just six weeks on Watch What Happens Live.
Kyle immediately threw an epic baby shower with almost all of the Real Housewives in attendance. Shortly after, little Benjamin Allen Cohen was born. Since then, Andy has been out and about with the baby, even flying with him on planes. It seems to me he would eventually need a babysitter. Someone from the cast of Vanderpump Rules seems like a good idea, no?
As a Bravo super-fan, the annual Summer House and Vanderpump Rules crossover episode is like my Super Bowl and it’s finally here! Before we see Kyle Cooke tell Stassi Schroeder she looks like Steve Jobs again (one can only hope), Kyle and Amanda Batula are tearfully discussing their future as a couple. They cry, they comfort each other and they go to sleep. I feel like we’ve seen this pattern a lot wit them. Meanwhile, the rest of the house comes back drunk except for Lindsay Hubbard who sleeps out again. Good for her. At the moment, relationships in the Summer House are all over the place!
Lindsay stubbles home, Jordan Verroi likes that girl (Erica) from the bar last week and Paige DeSorbo is talking to someone named Justin. Since Carl Radke brought a random as his date to a wedding, Paige feels free to move ahead with other guys. You go girl. Also, Paige has a full on pre-date routine, including a face mask. I continue to relate to Paige on a spiritual level. Jordan confines in Kyle about his erectile disfunction and Kyle is questioning his story. He thinks Jordan is either gay or a virgin. I never want to label someone but Jordan’s E.D is definitely stemming from a different issue.
Whew – we have crossed the finish line with season 7 of Vanderpump Rules and I am here to report that this reunion did not need to be 3 parts. There – recap done!
OK, kidding. I actually felt there were some illuminating moments. Like the glimpse of Katie Maloney‘s hubris. Wowee-wow-WOW. Katie literally always sees herself as the victim. She blames James Kennedy for the internet hating her but the internet rightfully hated Katie long before her antics this season! As Tom 1 never really got a chance to say courtesy of James’ interrupitis – a germ passed from Kristen Doute – Katie has been a rancid bottle of ranch dressing since season 1. Katie’s OWN putrid behavior is the reason the Twitterverse rails on her – it has nothing to do with James or her weight (or her husband’s manhood – how is that not also body shaming?). Let’s just say Katie is giving marriage, ranch dressing, the internet, and humanity a bad name. Oh, and also clothing.
There are certain events that we can expect from every Vanderpump Rules season. We get Gay Pride, a Mexico trip, and Stassi Schroeder’s birthday. There’s also World Dog Day, which Lisa Vanderpump hosted and some of the Pump Rules cast attended.
However, as expected, zero Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were in attendance. Not even flip-flopper Camille Grammer or one and done Joyce Giraud, the sole RHOBH cast member Lisa seems to be close with. Thankfully, Lisa’s husband Ken Todd and some Vanderpump Rules were there to support. However, there were still some notable names missing.
Some people may forget this, but Summer House is actually a Vanderpump Rules spin-off show. Who could ever forget Kyle Cooke telling Stassi Schroeder that she looks like Steve Jobs in the hot tub? It feels like a whole lifetime ago though.
During tonight’s Summer House episode, Stassi returns to Montauk. This time, she brings her boyfriend Beau Clark, Katie Maloney, and Tom Schwartz to the house.
The viewers can count on the Vanderpump Rules cast to take a trip to Mexico every season. Other than that, the Bravolebrities keep their travels to the United States. Or at least they do when they’re filming the show.
However, the ladies in the cast took their travel to Real Housewives levels when they visited Paris, France. Well, almost all of the Vanderpump Rules ladies. Stassi Schroeder, Brittany Cartwright, Lala Kent, and Katie Maloney all went to Paris
in Fofty’s private jet. But, where were the other ladies in the cast?
