George & Amal Clooney’s Life Advice for Twins Couldn’t Be More Different

Like any parent, George and Amal Clooney have life advice for their twins — but the twist is that they have very different ways of going about it. The couple stepped onto the red carpet at London’s Royal Albert Hall this week for A King’s Trust Celebration, and it was the couple’s wildly different advice that got people talking.

Speaking to British Vogue at the event, they gave a rare peek into what they tell their eight-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella. However, the pair’s answers could not possibly be less alike.

George and Amal Clooney’s life advice for their twins is very different but so relatable for parents

Despite having been married for over 11 years, George and Amal Clooney are very different — and so is their life advice for their twins. George dryly went straight to the practical aspect of life, telling British Vogue, “Don’t mix grain and grape, I think that’s important for the children to know. Don’t mix the two.”

On the other hand, Amal, a human rights lawyer who spends her days challenging injustice, took the question somewhere much more serious. She said, “I think we want them to stay curious, ask lots of questions, and challenge the things that don’t make sense to them, like much of what is going on in the world,” prompting her husband to chime in.

Without missing a beat, George said, “See my wife, she gives an elegant answer and I give the important answers.” Amal laughed and quipped, “Ask your dad when it comes to drinks.” The exchange laid out exactly the kind of push-and-pull that hits home for any parent trying to raise thoughtful kids without losing a sense of humor.

The twins were born in June 2017 and now reportedly split their time between the family’s farm in France, New York, and wherever their parents’ work takes them — all while being trilingual and having distinct personalities.

In just a brief moment on the carpet, George and Amal Clooney gave their twins life advice while also showing how a long-term marriage with kids tends to work.
