Donald Trump Sends Chilling Warning to Iran As Peace Talks Stall

Donald Trump just issued his most aggressive warning to Iran yet, and the language he used left nothing to the imagination. The US President took to Truth Social to send a stark message to Tehran as nuclear peace talks between the two nations hit a wall.

US President Donald Trump warned Iran on Sunday that the “clock is ticking” as peace talks stalled, BBC reported. “They better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them,” he wrote on Truth Social. He added, “TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!” The warning came as Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday.

Iranian media, meanwhile, reported that Washington failed to make concrete concessions in its latest response. The semi-official Mehr news agency stated that a lack of compromise would lead to an “impasse in the negotiations.” Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei insisted Tehran’s demands were “responsible” and “generous.” Trump had earlier labelled those demands “totally unacceptable” and said the truce was on “massive life support.”

Iran’s proposals reportedly included an immediate end to the war on all fronts. Tehran also demanded a halt to the US naval blockade and guarantees against further attacks. Additionally, Iran sought compensation for war damage and sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Fars news agency reported that Washington set five conditions in response to Tehran’s proposal.

Those conditions reportedly included a demand that Iran keep only one nuclear site operational. Washington also asked Tehran to transfer its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to the US. Trump suggested on Friday that he would accept a 20-year suspension of Iran’s nuclear programme. This appeared to mark a shift away from his earlier demand for a total end to it.

Israeli and US forces began massive air strikes on Iran on 28 February. The ceasefire meant to facilitate talks has largely held despite occasional exchanges. Iran continues to control the Strait of Hormuz, effectively closing the vital waterway. Pakistan has been mediating between the two sides, but both still appear far apart.
