The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast has seen a lot of family drama since it debuted on Bravo in 2009. However, cast members Melissa and Joe Gorga’s marriage has remained solid amidst the conflicts, Joe says.
They may be the exception rather than the rule, as they have been married for 21 years. The reality couple have three children, daughter Antonia, 20, along with sons Gino, 18, and Joey, 16.

On May 7, Melissa and Joe attended Vulture’s Inaugural Reality Masterminds Celebration at The Lawn Club in New York City. Here, they discussed their marriage and how they make it work with People.
In the interview, Joe jokingly commented, “She’s just obsessed with me,” about his wife, adding, “She’s so crazy.”
The discussion then took on a more serious tone. Joe became introspective when he said, “We have the same goals, we care about family as the center of our universe.”
He then offered advice to others on how to keep the spark alive over many years. “You got to keep dating, and that’s what we do. We date, we work hard, we play hard,” he noted.
In a timeline from Cosmopolitan, it was revealed the couple met while vacationing in Mexico back in 2002. It was when Joe and Melissa reunited at a Jersey Shore bar later on that they began dating. They have been married since 2004.
Melissa gave her perspective on her marriage in a May 2024 People interview. “I do give a lot of the credit to Joe on this,” she said.
“He is a preacher when it comes to relationships and how they should be handled. He truly believes in compliments and coming home and really having … date nights. I know this sounds so cliché, but we do. We still have date nights. We’ll still go see a movie.”
