Despite his apology, Lala Kent is still concerned about her castmate Danny Booko, especially the treatment of his wife Nia Booko.
On May 25, Lala sat down with Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp on their In the Hot Seat podcast. While admitting that Danny is “lovely” when he’s sober, Lala explained why she was still worried about him. As Danny continues to deal with backlash, Lala worries Nia doesn’t have much say in their marriage.
“I think that there’s a lot of work to be done,” The Valley star admitted. “I don’t know that there’s been a behavior shift.”

Though Lala hasn’t known the couple that long, she has definitely noticed “a shift that happens” when Danny drinks. “I’ve been around Danny when he’s not drinking … and he’s absolutely lovely.”
When Tamra mentioned her suspicions that things may be worse behind closed doors, Lala agreed, “That does worry me.”
Regarding Danny’s apology, Lala decided to give him “the benefit of the doubt.”
“I think he watched [his behavior on the show] and thought … ‘I need to issue a statement,’” the mom of two shared.
“It was hard to watch,” she continued. While admitting she’s never been in a relationship “for that long,” she also doesn’t “know how to cook, right? But I know what good food tastes like. I don’t need to be in a healthy marriage to know what one looks like – [or] what an unhealthy one looks like. It’s just kind of like you see it and know.”
Later in the interview, Lala touched on the fact that it was Danny’s wish to move to Santa Clarita, while Nia wanted to stay closer to her friends in the valley. It was also her husband who pushed her to have four children under the age of four.
“I don’t know that [Nia] has much of a say in anything,” she concluded.
The Valley airs Wednesday. at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams the next day on Peacock.
