Love Island USA host Ariana Madix recently spoke about her Season 7 favorite. The former Vanderpump Rules star was candid in discussing the popular Peacock show.
Ariana has hosted Love Island USA for the past two years. She’s back in her role for the show’s eighth season.
The Love Island USA host says Olandria Carthen stood out from day one
The standout from Season 7, and possibly the entire series, is Olandria Carthen. “I mean, I could’ve told you that was gonna happen. The girl’s a star,” Ariana said in an interview with People.
Olandria was the runner-up, alongside Nic Vansteenberghe. “The second I saw her casting sheet, I was like, I’m obsessed with this girl. I know I’m not supposed to have favorites, but she was my favorite cast member.”
The host said she felt a kinship with Olandria. “I felt like I related to her on so many levels and I’m so happy for her and so proud of her, and I think that this is just the beginning for her, so I’m excited to see what she does next,” she said in the interview.
Ariana described hosting Love Island USA as her “dream job.” However, it does come with drawbacks. “The worst thing is just being so far away from home,” she said in the interview. “And on such a wildly different time zone, that I just feel very removed from life, which I guess can also sometimes be a good thing.”
She said the pace means she worries less. “Whereas I feel like before, shooting [Vanderpump Rules] and then waiting months and months for it to come out, I had so much time to overthink everything I did and said. This is almost, maybe, better for me.”
