Prince Harry Attends Event Without Meghan Markle

Since their highly publicized Australia trip earlier this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made very few headlines of late. But the Duke of Sussex just changed that by attending an event in Los Angeles … without his wife.

The Duke of Sussex went solo to an LA book launch

To support his friend, chef José Andrés, Prince Harry made a rare solo appearance at the release party for Spain My Way: Eat, Drink, and Cook Like a Spaniard. The new cookbook has already been named a New York Times Best Seller, and is described as a “lively collection of José Andrés’ most beloved recipes from his home country.”

Unsurprisingly, then, guests at the cookbook party – which took place at José’s own restaurant – were served an array of Spanish-inspired bites. According to PEOPLE, these included scallop crudo, croquetas, jamon iberico, and tortilla espanola with caviar. José’s legendary liquid olives were also on the menu, as were a selection of Spanish wines. How delightful!?

Harry’s attendance at the cookbook party was no coincidence. He and Meghan have been friends with the author, José, for many years. His World Central Kitchen nonprofit was the first partner of their charity, Archewell Philanthropies, which was previously known as the Archewell Foundation.

Through that collaboration, the Sussexes worked with José to provide relief following the California wildfires in January 2025. The couple spent time at the organization’s Pasadena location to distribute food to local victims.

José also guest-starred on the second season of the Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.

“You know who doesn’t like lobster?” she told the chef on the show. “My husband.”

To that, José replied: “And you married him anyway?”
