Donald Trump Faces Backlash for Exiting Meet the Press Interview

Donald Trump has come under fire after he unexpectedly stormed off from his recent ‘Meet the Press’ interview. While speaking with Kristen Welker, the POTUS decided to walk away from the sit-down, seemingly frustrated with the host’s line of questioning. However, the internet has not taken kindly to Trump’s crash-out, with netizens slamming him for his rash reaction.

Donald Trump criticized for leaving Meet the Press interview

The president’s recent appearance on ‘Meet The Press‘ ended abruptly when he chose to leave the interview with Kristen Welker midway. After Welker pressed him about his ‘rigged’ claims regarding the California gubernatorial election, Trump chose to call the host and the program “crooked,” before exiting.

“You’re a one-sided crooked network,” he noted. “Sorry. Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough. Thank you, darling. Have a good time.”

Trump continued, “I sat in the rain with you for an hour. On and off in the rain, and I’ve given you enough time. You ought to straighten out your press, because you know what? A country can never be great with a dishonest press.”

Since then, several X (formerly Twitter) users have called out Trump’s walkout. One critic noted, “Guy can’t even handle basic straightforward polite questions but we’re supposed to think he’s some masterful negotiator. Please, his whole life story is a lie. Wake up, people. This is who he has always been. A fraud.”

Journalist Ahmed Baba blasted Donald Trump’s mid-interview exit from ‘Meet the Press’ by stating, “Trump unravels when his delusional unreality faces the slightest pushback. When he’s out of his sycophantic bubble, he’s forced to grapple with the fragility of his lies, the backlash to his overreach, and his mounting political weakness. He can’t handle the truth.”

A third opposer wrote, “What an insecure person. He wilts under the slightest pressure and push back. It’s no wonder our adversaries don’t fear him.”

Since then, Welker has come out to blame the interview crash-out on “complications” caused by rain and revealed that Donald Trump has “agreed to sit down with me for another Meet the Press interview,” as per CNN analyst Brian Stelter.
