Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel took a comedic victory lap after Spencer Pratt’s defeat in the LA mayoral race, saying that he has rented a U-Haul to help The Hills star move out of the city as he had promised.
In the June 2, 2026, Los Angeles mayoral primary, Spencer Pratt finished third with roughly 26% of the vote, as incumbent Karen Bass and Councilwoman Nithya Raman advanced to the November runoff.
Jimmy Kimmel shares a hilarious reaction to Spencer Pratt’s election loss
Kimmel, who had warned people not to vote for the Republican candidate, likening it to “if your canoe is sinking and you thought it might help to add a rattlesnake,” was seen celebrating Pratt’s defeat with heavy doses of mockery.
The host urged Pratt to do good on his promise that he would leave LA if he was defeated in the mayoral race. Kimmel mocked the failed mayoral candidate as “a man of his word,” adding, “You said you were going to go, and I know things might be tight right now, especially out of state donation money is running out. Moving is expensive. So, to help you out we rented you a U-Haul. It has plenty of room.”
Kimmel’s freewheeling satire came thick and fast, as he encouraged Pratt to use the U-Haul that his team had “spent the whole day decorating for you,” showing footage of the U-Haul with Spencer Pratt’s face with the message “Just defeated”.
Kimmel topped off his monologue saying, “Let us know if you want it. We’ll drop it off right in front of the Bel-Air Hotel.”
Pratt’s political stunt has been under continuous speculation, with Kimmel previously expressing that Pratt had no intention of working hard for the city — this was just another way to get back into the limelight by courting controversy. He also said that Pratt was using a similar playbook to President Trump, who appeared in the reality show “The Apprentice”.
