Donald Trump Makes Big Promises for July 4 ‘Trump Rally’

President Donald Trump will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary of independence with “the most spectacular TRUMP RALLY.” The “Tribute to America” rally on July 4 will take place at the National Mall, next to the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial.

Donald Trump announces a high-profile event to kick off America’s 250th anniversary

In a post on Truth Social on June 15, Trump unveiled the plans. The 80-year-old wrote, “We are going to host the most spectacular TRUMP RALLY of them all, a ‘TRIBUTE TO AMERICA.’ Starting at 7 P.M. EST, this HUGE Celebration will honor our Country’s People, Spirit, Strength, Resolve, and Triumphs.”

Adding, “With the backdrop of the Lincoln Memorial and surrounding the beautifully new Reflecting Pool, more than 300 Members of our strong and talented Military Bands, Orchestras, and Ceremonial Units, will perform Patriotic Melodies and American Classics, and my Playlist (We will have none of those people that put you to sleep and constantly complain!), as we celebrate our Country, and Rally into the next 250 years.”

In his announcement, Trump wrote that the event would feature the largest joint military musical and ceremonial formation in history, along with flyovers and airshows showcasing top military pilots and equipment. He also said he would deliver keynote remarks that he described as unmissable. He further stated that the program would conclude with what he described as the largest fireworks show in history in the nation’s capital.

In a separate post, Trump said the June 24 event would go ahead, describing it as the “kickoff” of a summer-long celebration. He said military bands would be performing “ONLY THE HITS THAT YOU KNOW AND LOVE!” He said the event would include performances by vocalist Christopher Macchio and Lee Greenwood, who would perform God Bless the U.S.A., among others.

As per the BBC, America250 and Freedom 250 are expected to host the major celebration events. Several artists, including Martina McBride, The Commodores, and Bret Michaels, withdrew from the event, citing its ties to the White House. Rapper Young MC informed his fans on Facebook that he will not be performing, writing, “I hope to perform in D.C. in the near future at an event that is not so politically charged.”
