Is Raven Really Competing on RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under vs the World?

If you’re confused by the RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under vs. the World cast lineup, please join the club. World of Wonder just announced the 11 queens competing in the upcoming season, and Raven is allegedly one of them. Yes, that Raven — the Season 2 runner-up who worked her way up the World of Wonder corporate ladder and now works as RuPaul’s personal makeup artist. Fans are completely gagged and full of doubt.

RuPaul’s Drag Race fans aren’t convinced Raven is actually part of the cast

The upcoming season marks the first time the Vs. the World format has touched Down Under, and it’s a cast of heavy hitters competing for the title of Queen of the Mother Tucking World. Here’s the full lineup:

  • Art Simone (Down Under Season 1)
  • Coco Jumbo (Down Under Season 1)
  • Estrella Xtravaganza (España Season 2)
  • Flor (Down Under Season 3)
  • LaLa Ri (Drag Race Season 13; All Stars 8)
  • M1ss Jade So (Philippines Season 2)
  • Michael Marouli (Drag Race UK Series 5)
  • Nicole Paige Brooks (Drag Race Season 2; All Stars 10)
  • Nikita Iman (Down Under Season 4)
  • Raven (Drag Race Season 2; All Stars 1)
  • Vybe (Down Under Season 4)

You’ve got Down Under fan favorites like Art Simone and Coco Jumbo ready for another shot at the crown, along with legends like Nicole Paige Brooks and LaLa Ri. And then, there’s Raven, who has the Queendom completely divided.

Raven was the runner-up on both RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 2 and All Stars Season 1. Since then, she’s become a World of Wonder fixture, hosting series like Fashion Photo RuView and Painted by Raven — not to mention her role as RuPaul’s MUA. With all of that in mind, fans are having a hard time believing she’d actually compete again.

“Obviously a stunt. If she ever competes again (super unlikely) it won’t be on Down Under vs. the World. No shade but come on,” one skeptical fan wrote online.

Another added, “This has overshadowed the announcement of all other queens competing — if it’s a stunt, stealing their moment for a ‘fake out’ is super unfair to all of them. So I hope she is competing.”

All evidence seems to point towards her actually competing. If you watch her Meet the Queens interview, she made her intentions pretty clear.

“I wanted to come back and compete again because I missed the competition. I missed walking the main stage,” Raven admitted.

She added, “I’m here for the crown. I’m here to compete. I’m here to win. After all of these years, I am here.”

That seems pretty straightforward, right? It’s also worth noting that RuPaul no longer hosts Drag Race Down Under, having handed the reins to Michelle Visage back in 2024. If there’s any franchise where Raven could compete, it’s probably this one.

Drag Race Down Under vs. the World premieres July 24 on WOW Presents Plus.
