Some serious allegations are being made against a reality star. Doubling Down With the Derricos aired for five seasons on TLC. It followed an ex-couple navigating parenthood with 14 children.
The star of that show was recently arrested, with reports of death threats being made. Allegedly some emails got rather heated between the parents, leading to an arrest in Las Vegas. The matter has become a he said she said case.
Karen Derrico is facing multiple charges
Karen Derrico is in some hot water. Court documents obtained by TMZ state that the mother and former TLC star reportedly made death threats against her ex-husband, Deon and their kids.
Karen’s charges include harassment, violating a restraining order, preventing a witness from testifying through threat of violence, and aggravated stalking. Prosecutors claim that Karen sent numerous emails to Deon saying she could kill him.
Along with that, Karen also reportedly threatened to “kill any of the kids” who may have sided with Deon post-split. She also allegedly threatened to kill Deon if he went to a court hearing over the restraining order he filed against her. This was filed due to alleged threats she made. He proceeded to file a police report when the alleged threatening emails came out.
According to TMZ’s source, Deon and Karen were living together following their divorce for financial reasons. However, a reconciliation between the parents did not appear likely, prompting Karen to move out earlier this year with four of her children.
Karen’s attorney Jess Marchese alleges that Deon sent the threats to himself to frame his client. The lawyer says that their team are working with tech experts to prove this. He says that Karen is out on a $2,000 bond and on an ankle monitor.
Karen and Deon are not the only former TLC couple who have had their issues. Patrick Mendes and Thais Ramone are going through an ugly split. The exes from 90 Day Fiancé are currently fighting over child custody and support.
