Although the trip could allow the Sussexes to reconnect with members of the Royal Family, sources allege there may be a broader objective behind the timing. According to the report, the couple could also be looking to rebuild their public profile as they enter a new chapter.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly have another agenda
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly returning to Britain in July with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The visit is said to coincide with the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. It could also give King Charles a chance to see his youngest grandchildren for the first time in four years.
Still, not everyone believes the visit is purely about family. According to a royal source cited by RadarOnline, questions are already being raised behind palace walls. “From the outside, it looks as though Harry and Meghan have reached a crossroads,” the insider claimed. The source alleged that some of the opportunities the couple pursued after stepping away from royal duties have not delivered the “long-term success” they hoped for. As a result, returning to the U.K. could place them back in the global spotlight.
The insider also claimed that Markle understands the importance of staying visible. “Prestige, influence, and relevance are all vital to the image she’s trying to project,” the source said. Per the individual, appearing alongside the Royal Family offers something “no marketing campaign can easily replicate.”
In addition, the source suggested that rebuilding even a symbolic connection with the monarchy could benefit Markle’s public image. The insider alleged it could “improve perceptions internationally and help create fresh momentum” for her business ventures.
Meanwhile, another palace source questioned the timing of the trip. “There is a feeling that this trip is being driven as much by necessity as sentiment,” the insider claimed. The source further alleged that although Harry and Markle have built a life in California, much of the public’s interest in them still comes from their royal connection.
